February 18, 2015
Waterloo, Ontario, February 18, 2015 – Pixus Technologies, a supplier of electronic packaging systems and components and the exclusive North American supplier of Rittal Electronic Packaging products, has introduced a new 13U AdvancedTCA® (ATCA®) Shelf, the PXS1340, supporting a 14-Slot 40GBASE-KR4 Backplane for 40GbE performance. There are over 15,000 of the 10GBASE-KR version of this Shelf deployed world-wide. Designed to meet NEBS, the PXS1340 is well suited for high-end telecom, military/aerospace, networking, communications, and computing applications.
The PXS1340 features a front-to-rear airflow cooling configuration for exceptional thermal management. Independent testing confirms over 270W/Slot cooling performance. If one of the four blowers is removed, the airflow within the plenum follows the path of least resistance, keeping the static pressure low, which is critical to support the NEBS requirements for fan failure/removal.
Full redundancy of all of the Field Replaceable Units (FRUs) including the quad Cooling Units (CUs), dual Power Entry Modules (PEMs), dual Shelf Manager Controllers (ShMCs), and Hubs is an important feature of the PXS1340. AC power supplies and 10GBASE-KR backplane options are available.
The PXS1340 will be on display in the HARTING booth (HALL 4A/ 4A-341) at Embedded World, taking place in Nuremberg, Germany, February 24-26, 2015.
