Arezzo (Italy), February 23, 2018
From February the 27th to the 1st of March 2018, the Embedded World Exhibition & Conference—the foremost international trade fair for embedded systems—is coming back to the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre, for the annual appointment with the embedded community. SECO, a leading company in electronic embedded solutions as well as a proud, longtime exhibitor at the fair, has put everything in place for showcasing the latest additions to its product range to the tens of thousands of visitors coming.
Among the great innovations of this year, the launch of COMe-B75-CT6: it is a COM Express™ Compact 3.0 Type 6 Module with nothing less than the AMD Ryzen™ Embedded V1000 processors. The module mounts up to 4 “Zen” x86 CPU cores with the latest Radeon™ graphics and I/O controller on a single chip. It comes with up to two DDR4 SO-DIMM Slots supporting DDR4-3200 ECC Memory, a wide range of expansion ports, PCI-Express, Serial Ports, networking and video interfaces, all of which makes it an ideal solution for medical devices, digital signage, and gaming. Regarding infotainment and the module’s capabilities as a media player, the COMe-B75-CT6 supports H.265 / H.264 video encoding, H.265 / H.264 / VP9 / MPEG-4 Video decoding.
“We are pleased to announce the SECO COMe-B75-CT6 module based on the new powerhouse AMD Ryzen™ Embedded V1000 processors, which represents a significant milestone in our company roadmap,” said Gianluca Venere, SECO Director of Global Sales & Chief Strategy Officer. “With an extraordinary balance between performance, graphics and power consumption, the Ryzen™ Embedded V1000 will be the flagship foundation for our COM Express™ line of products, and the first in a long series of new solutions with AMD.”
The SoC, AMD Ryzen™ Embedded V1000 processor, is a powerhouse in itself. With the processing power of 4 high-performance 14 nm “Zen” cores and the help of 11 5th generation GCN Compute Units it can drive up to 4 displays in 4K resolution at 60fps at the same time. Thanks to a brand-new, high-performance core design and an innovative, high-bandwidth low latency cache system it is capable of implementing simultaneous multithreading (SMT) for high throughput, and ultimately fits multiple scenarios, from medical imaging to casino- and arcade gaming, from industrial controls up to premium thin client, digital signage and communications infrastructure.
Stephen Turnbull, director of product marketing, Datacenter and Embedded Solutions Business Group, AMD says: “AMD is pleased to continue to support SECO by enabling early access to the AMD Ryzen™ Embedded V1000 processor. We are pleased to collaborate with SECO on cutting-edge solutions for market segments including digital signage, gaming, biomedical/medical devices and much more”.
As in previous years, SECO will attend embedded world with two booths: SECO booth (Hall 1, Stand 441), hosting complete modular solutions and single board computers for the industrial domain, and SECO Lab (Hall 4, Stand 539), dedicated to open-source hardware SBCs of the UDOO product line and applications for makers, educators and IoT designers.
