SECO launches the new COM Express™ Type 7 product line

SECO’s strive to improve and discover new markets lead the company to become a reliable partner in many industries, and in 2019 the company is expanding its reach further than ever before.

Today SECO propels into a new market, completing its portfolio of products with a new line: the COM Express Type 7. This new line enables SECO to enter the Networking & Communications and Storage markets, and become a competitive partner in the HPC domain.

HPC (High-performance computing) is a new technology that uses supercomputers and parallel processing for solving complex computational problems. By having more PCs working in parallel on the same problem, final performance is highly optimized. HPC technology focus is to develop parallel processing algorithms and systems by incorporating both administration and parallel computational techniques.

SECO enters this market by providing a product that responds to the stringent demands HPC poses, delivering a fitting compromise between innovation, features, performance and cost.

SECO is unveiling COM Express Type 7’s first product: the COMe-C42-BT7, a COM Express™ Rel. 3.0 Basic Type 7 module with the AMD EPYC™ Embedded 3000 Series of SoCs

This innovative solution provides scalable offerings with outstanding performance and more connectivity. Networking and connectivity are improved with the 4x 10GBASE-KR interfaces + 1x 1GbE port with NC-SI and the 4 USB 3.1; 24x PCI-e Gen3 lanes. Moreover, the performance is enhanced by the four DDR4 SO-DIMM slots supporting DDR4-2666 memory with ECC, up to 128GB.

The AMD EPYC™ Embedded 3000 shows major improvements in power, optimization, and security. The main features of this new processor are I/O integration, flexibility, and security capabilities, scalable offering, harnessing the power of the new “Zen” CPU architecture. Performance-per-dollar is greatly improved, making it a great choice for development.

“We’re truly satisfied that SECO added COM Express™ Type 7 to its portfolio of modular products. This new line is our latest milestone, creating new high-level performing solutions for our customers. Additionally, it opens the HPC market and – as further grounds for gratification – strengthens our partnership with AMD”, states Giacomo Giorgi, Head of Product Technology at SECO.

When SECO introduces a new solution it is not just about the hardware, especially when approaching a new market. SECO’s focus on its customers goes above and beyond market standards, offering custom made hardware and software customization services, such as BIOS customization, firmware, and driver development, system integration, certifications and more services tailored on its customer’s needs. With SECO, customers have a single point of contact for receiving the support of professionals that can guide each company from idea to finished product, and beyond.
