This specification, AMC.2, defines the implementation of 1 and 10 Gbps Ethernet (PICMG® 3.1 1000BASE-BX and PICMG® 3.1 10GBASE-BX4 subset of IEEE 802.3 XAUI signalling, respectively) links on AMC.0 Modules and Carriers.

The intended implementation practice will normally include at least one link of Ethernet. 1.2 Scope AMC.2 is a subsidiary specification to AMC.0 and is limited in scope to defining link usage, management and Electronic-Keying (E-Keying) parameters for Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) and 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10 GbE) on AMCs and Carrier Boards. AMC.2 may be implemented with any of the allowable sizes supported by the AMC.0 specification. Refer to AMC.0 for definition of the Module’s mechanical, interconnect, management, power and thermal requirements.
